7811FX - Hard drive upgrade

I am considering replacing the 200 GB internal drive in my 7811FX - I am thinking of dropping in two (2) Seagate 500 GB 7200 RPM drives for a cool terrabyte of space - the info on the Seagates showw they don't draw much more power than the current drive. Anyone see any down side to this other than the work involved in moving the os / files from the current to the new drives? It looks to be a simple transaction except for needing screws for the 2nd drive. Any other thoughts?

just make sure the drives you put in are the same depth as the ones you take out. most hard drives are 9.5 mm tall, but some are as tall as 12.5 mm, which may have trouble fitting some notebook cases.

Just completed installing two seagate 500gb 7200rpm hard drives in my laptop - all is well - used the seagate discwizard software to clone and manually set partition sizes - so quick - running for over 24 hours with no hiccups.

Hi Rawagner,
Do you mind telling me where to get this Seagate Discwizard software?
Does it really can clone partitions and set partition size manually too?
Thanks.

You can get it directly from Seagate here: http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.js...00dd04090aRCRD

edit: just keep in mind that this will only work if you have a Seagate hard drive.
