I have a HP Compaq nc6220 and it boots up very slow. I bought it from a refurbisher and after it boots up it seems to work fine. It was a corporate laptop on a network and I think all of the network security stuff has been disabled. I have 2 Gigs of ram. When it finally gets to the point of taking commands it is still slow at first like there is more software to load. For example when I hit the "start" button and then "all program", the pop up screen for the programs remains blank for about 10-20 seconds. From that first time on it works fine. Any suggestions on how what i may be able to do to increase speed on start up? Some times it will take 10 minutes to get "warmed up". Seems to be a huge drain on battery.
