Hi all,
I'm trying to reinstall XP on my Z61T, which had it's stock hard drive crap out. I never got the OEM disks with the computer, so I borrowed an XP Pro disc (SP 1), and have tried without success to reinstall on a new hard drive.
Everything goes well until I get to the product key - I tried both the key on the bottom of the computer, and the key from keyfinder.2.0.6 from the OEM drive (I'm not sure why the codes are different?), but neither code will work - I get an error: "The Product ID you entered is not valid".
How do I get around this? The hard drive with the OEM partition is shaky, and works half the time, but is obviously setup using one of the keys listed above (more likely teh key found via keyfinder).
Not sure how to get around this?
