following the "x" models price drops, sounds like a refresh is coming......2nd quarter maybe......
Odd cuz not sure what they could refresh that to?

I gotta say this recession/depression we're in certainly has some positives as far as prices go. I practice specing out M17X & M17s from time to time nad they are really getting reasonable for a decent configuration.

Well, Alienware has just put 4 refurbished M17Xs on Ebay for $1499 buy it now ($39.99 shipping). I did a quick config on AWs site these machines cost ~ $1799 plus tax if new.

They are clearing stock plain and simple, new stuff is coming and old stuff has to go.

Put it this way, last time they wiped out all their notebook lines, except 1, and there wasn't much to pick from and they lost a lot of notebook customers in doing so. At least they are not doing that mistake again.

To save $300 plus $100 on tax and lose the warranty isn't worth it. For a $1000 or so it would be worth it to me.
