M1625 Downgrade to XP: ATI RS960T drivers!!!

Hello,

I have a Gateway M1625 Notebook that came with Vista, and i'm trying to downgrade to XP, but i'm really struggling to find the correct drivers to get everything working. I have managed to install the Netwrork adapters, the graphic card driver, the sound driver....but i'm struggling to find the chipset driver! The model is ATI RS690T and Gateway will not point me to the direct driver (appalling customer service...).

Could anyone be so kind as to point me in the right direction? I have been looking for over 3 days but i can't find the correct driver, and i'm getting realy desperate. I have a problem with the SMBus Controller and i don't know how to fix it!

I do appreciate in advance all the help that you guys can give me!

Tried ATI driect?

Browse through this one and see, search for ATI RS690:

Hi I also have a Gateway M1625. Vista crashed and I loaded XP I have found video driver and wireless driver but I need the audio driver and also any other drivers which would make the computer have the features it had before the crash like battery monitor and dimming of monitor. Oh yeah and I'm hoping that the video and audio drivers will be what I need to use the HDMI out again? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am not a guru so please explain in laymans terms thanks!!

audio is sigmatel based if I remember correctly. probably can find it on gateways site with a little digging.

as for the video, if ATI makes driver for XP you can always use Catalyst control center to set up multiple monitors, including HDMI.
