Asus M70VN-X1 vs Sager NP5793

I'm stuck between these two laptops .. First of all, I need a laptop for my future deployment to the middle east. I will be using the laptop for gaming, such as Crysis, Grid, Dead Space, Sims 2, Doom 3, etc etc etc. As well as watching movies, internet surfing (when accessible) and maybe some graphic design. So, I came between these two laptops. The Sager, if bought, will get the upgrade to 2.53 GHZ processor.

My question is, which one does this community think will be the best built??

the Asus

the Sager

Or does someone know of a laptop for about 1500$ that is a different and recommend??

P.S. .. This is my first laptop purchase, that's why I need help ..

Well the Sager you linked has a notably more powerful video card, so it would be better for gaming. However, Asus has a much better track record than Clevo (the manufacturer of Sager notebooks), so I would pick the Asus for reliability.

If you're willing to get a notebook with a 15.4" screen instead of a 17" screen, the Asus G50Vt has a more powerful video card than the M70Vn.

I do like the more powerfull gaming card, but I do want the 17" .. theres gonna be a lot of movie watching on it, not just by me, but in my shop as well ..

There are several other 17" machines with 9800M graphics cards, but most of them are closer to $2000 (or more) than $1500. Gateway has a fairly inexpensive 17" notebook with a 9800M graphics card. I reviewed one and it performs well, but again I would have some concerns about durability.

Unfortunately, I do not want to spend 2g's on it, because I do live in hawaii and i do need to buy a coverage plan for it, and it does need to be durable because it will go through a lot of taveling (comin to afghan with me) .. so right now im thinking the asus

unless someone knows why i shouldnt do it.
