Mass Effect 2 (PS3/360/PC) - Page 4

NERDS!!!!

I will get around to both of them when I have time. I really should install Steam again. Or just break down and get another 360.

You know getting another 360 is OUT OF THE QUESTION. Why even think it?
Because I think I want to have all of this gen and last gen consoles. (working)

And I have become a lazy gamer I dont like keyboard and mouse as much as I used to.

You think you don't like it. You really do.

I am using a PS3 controllor on my PC right now. Because I hate WASD + mouse that much.

Oh c'mon, Bioware said that Shepard can die along with the whole team and anywhere in between. The game has such varied endings. I also didn't tell you whom to use, I just said you'll have to make the "right" choices.

Wait, we have the spoiler tag now? What next, you're going to tell me I have to start using that new coversheet on my TPS reports?

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Really?

Wow, it appears we do. I use quick reply so much I just never thought about using the spoiler tags.

finished this last night. very weak ending with a very weak boss.

only one of my crew members died. meh.
Well I havent beaten it yet, but I already assumed the ending wouldnt exactly be satisfying. It suffers from the middle child of a trilogy problem. They cant go and do something spectacular story-wise otherwise they may not be able to work in part 3.

But a weak boss sounds kinda disappointing. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Although Saren/Saren Husk at the end of the first game wasnt that tough, except for the "Holy shit" factor when he came back at you.

Love all the hype on AAA titles that never payout. Even MW2 single player was weak compared to MW.

I know you do. It's always the first game in the series that get's everyone excited. THe 2nd games disappoints. The third disappoints more. It's science.

By this logic, Dead Space 2 will suck.

I wouldnt call the story bad. Its well above average to good so far for me. Compared to most games that have come out in the last several years its a spectacular story. We'll see what the ending does for me. Like I said, I assume it'll be kinda disappointing, being the middle child, but sometimes you have to look at the trilogy as a whole.

Its also got nice enjoyable gameplay. Not over the top hard, but certainly challenging enough to keep you going and easy enough to pick up. Not an addicting play through over and over again game like Diablo 2, but certainly worth more than 1 or 2 play throughs and one of those games you might get the urge to still play every now and then in 5 years, like Knights of the Old Republic.

Steve Look at Uncharted and Uncharted 2 they did it. Why is it that Naughty Dog and IW can pull it off but others cant? Or Metal Gear? I mean its some whacked out shit but all the stories have been fun to play. Everything I have seen on Bioshock 2 is telling me its going to be Bioshock 1.5
post #77 of 128
Killzone 2 on the other hand was intresting. I thought the story was meh, but the point they made was good and they did it in a good way.

All great questions Joe. IW and NaughtDog have extraordinary talent in story telling. No idea why other developers can't mimic this. Blizzard is up there too.
Blizzard is great at telling ONE story, just ONE.
Too true. When was the last time blizzard stopped telling the same story?
