Hi all, I need a little bit of help. I have a go 7800 gs and would like to put it in a M1710. Can this be possible. I know according to dell is not compatible but why not would it work. The mount the same and the bios should pick it up. I cant afford to pay 300 dollars for a diffrent videocard. Please can anyone tell me if this can work.. Im not planning on gamming with it.

the 7800gs was never used in the M1710, but if it is the one from a 9400 / E1705 series laptop it would at least plug into the M1710.

I do not know anyone who was tried this here, but since it is an older GPU there is a chance the BIOS mght reconize it.

Didn't realize 24 hour free response time was a criterion. That comment almost makes me not want to answer this thread. And actually, this question has already been answered so perhaps you want to do a search next time.

Anyway, yes it will fit and the BIOS support is probably there. There is a thread that lists someone as having successfully used a 7800 go in a XPS M1710 but I cannot vouch for the person. I am 92% confident this will work as a drop in however.
