Do you normally have the ac adapter (power brick) plugged in and then plug/unplug the cord from the laptop?

the power brick is normally plugged in and i remove the card from the laptop usually when it's off or on standby . but that shoudlnt be the case with this situation .

it's the dc adapter which probably caused the laptop power supply to go bad . anyone help ?

U know i had this kind of problem in my compaq laptop ... but it was only i had to twist the plug that is connected to the laptop by a specifiq turn so as for it to work!! try bending it in different ways, i don't think it's the dc adapter

Check for arching around the plug. Looks likes black "gunk". If it is there, then the "Jack" could be damaged and does not conduct.
