jumping cursor - Toshiba Portege

Thread Starter
I am now on the second Portege, that my company has supplied to me. The first was swapped out because they thought the jumping cursor was a keyboard problem. But, hey, the second one is jumping just as much.

I can see from the internet that several respondants on this forum have had the same problem, so what's the solution?

Please help me if you can.

Cheers,

Russell

are you using an external mouse or using the laptops touchpad. If you are using an external mouse, disable the touchpad as your shirtsleeve is probably dragging across the touchpad when you type

Iḿ with Sugen on this one, seen it a million times and it happens to me everry time I get on a differnet laptop & drives me nuts. You could also go into the touchpad settings and disable tapping. That way you can still use the touchpad, but you have to use the buttons to click or double click on things instead of tapping the touchpad. That or just get used to making very sure that tyour thumbs/sleeves aren't accidentally wiping the pad.

That reminds me, it just happened to me while typing this message in a fresh ubuntu install. Gonna go disable it right now.
