Trekstor External Hard Drive problems

I've got a Trekstor DataStation Maxi m.u.. One day, it got a hard hit by something, while it was turned on, and aparently was some of the sectors damaged. This is a small group of sectors, but its annoying me, since when i'm using the hard drive, i can stor data to a certain point, before some of them gets corrupt. Ive tested it, and the SMART test, and the genric test failed. Since I cant afford a new external - or internal, hard drive at the moment, i was wondering if i would be able to "isolate" the damaged sectors. Any idea?

Run chkdsk /f, it will block out the damaged sectors for you

Well, i tried to use the command you gave me, but since i have no data on my hard drive right now, it just took a couple of seconds before it was done, just without reading everyu sector on the disk.

Search the net for "hard drive health software", you'll get many hits on freeware.
