Accidentally shutdown vista while updating =/

Last night when i was going to bed, i hit the "Update and shutdown" option while powering off, not thinking about it much i shut the lid, not thinking that shutting the lid makes the computer go into sleep mode, and went to sleep.

Now in the morning, i opened the lid and found the computer in the middle of the updating process, it finished it and shut off. I then tried to start it, but it wont even load BIOS, it turns on the fans and and processor gets alittle hot, but the screen doesnt turn on, and it generally sounds like it is in some kind of idle mode.

I have tried pulling the battery, mouse, network cable, and waiting 30 minutes, didnt work. You also cant boot from recovery disks or a windows cd =/

Any idea on how to fix this?
I'd hate to have to give it to our IT tech guys.. i've just spent like 5 months trying to get them to fix the last problem i had, only to be given a new computer.

any help is appreciated.

Not be able to get to BIOS screen, and could not boot from optical device is not a good sign :-(

Try swapping the ram modules around, may be? Also removing the battery and AC, then hold down the power button for 30-40 secs, to discharge statics.

cheers ...
