Hi,
I want to Create a bootable Image of the "operating system with software, drivers and my settings installed in the system" on a Disc . so that if I have to format and install the operting system ,I can do everything at a go from this bootable disc....is there any way to do this, size is not a constraint.... plz give some suggestion ,how to go about it....it takes hell of time to do this....I want to use this disc as a System restore/recovery option , as the new laptops come with Recovery Partition for restoring to factory default setting.
one more thing is there a way to save the recovery partition of vista (With factory default setting) to a DVD ,so that in need of restoration i can restore it from the DVD and save the space that the recovery drive is using.plz help... Thanx in Advance

. I doubt that you an backup your recovery partition to a DVD, you can clone the whole drive with the recovery partition onto it.

. The recovery disks are just that , to recover from a system crash, and not really intending to take over the installation process, which is currently being performed by the installation CD.

. You can slipstream certain Microsoft programs (and drivers) onto the installation disk, but for all others, an image is the best you can make.

Acronis True Image and Norton ghost offer a good way to crate an image of your current drive (and partitions) to be used later. What you need is an external usb housing with an extra drive.

Acronis True Image offer a 30days trial that can be used to image your current drive.
