I figured out that if I connect an external monitor to it, it actually works (on the laptop screen, not using the external monitor but just plugging one into it) for some reason.
Not that it matters, since the screen has a bunch of green jagged lines streaking through it I get a BSOD when Windows tries to boot up anyway
.
On a side note, my laptop is out of warranty but thanks to this:

I still have a few months to try to claim a new laptop since I'm pretty positive the GPU is the problem.
My question/problem is, I don't have my Proof of Purchase anymore (which is required to apply for the settlement). I've looked on the Dell website, but I can't find anywhere that mentions anything about printing out a PoP. If I called Dell, would they be able to send me one, or am I just out of luck?

my nvidia 7950gtx just died last night. blue dotted artifacts on the boot up screen then just a black screen when the os attempts to boot.
i checked the dell website for warranty and it says mine ended on 4/27/2010.
i went to nvidiasettlement.com, but settlement is now over.
i guess i could try baking my gpu like everyone else.
