Yet another 7700 problem - Resource Conflict

Thread Starter
So i have an older area 51m 7700 laptop that i got from a buddy of mine it has a 7800 GTX with 1.5GB of ram and 1 40 gig hard drive.
On boot i see the main bios screen (alienware logo) and after that a blank screen, if i push ESC at the first screen i get a mem check and this error:

ERROR
Resource Conflict - PCI Mass Storage Controller on Motherboard
Bus:0A, Device:02, Function:00

Press <F1> to resume, >F2> to Setup

The bios detects no hard drive.
I even get the error when the hard drive and cable are out of the laptop.
It has the 3.0 Ghz intel proc.
I reflashed the bios (V1.00.06)
I can boot into Live linux cds and that shows the raid controller but no mass storage controller.
Does this mean the mobo is trash? If so is the D900T rev6.1 a good choice?(will it blow up in a year or so?)
ive seen issues SIMILAR to this one but not one exactly like this so i made a new post.

The laptop is apart the mobo is out i have pics if anyone wants to see, because i have a friend who can fix the mobo if i can find out what is wrong.

thanks ahead of time!
