How to diagnose Blue Screen

Thread Starter
I have a inspiron 1505 with bluetooth 355 factory installed.

When I use the Blueant b/t headset and skype I get the blue screen and with as I recall the error message is E08.

I have queried dell, blueant and skype about what could be causing this but without success.

How do I determine the cause of the crash?

Thanks

You can review the Event Viewer and see what is being related during this crash.

cheers ...

Has this always been an issue? Your laptop cant be new since the model is nearly 3+ years old so we need to determine if this is completely software related. If the bluescreen only occurs when bluetooth is active the first thing we can try is reinstalling the bluetooth stack. Head to dells support page and get the latest version and then uninstall the current BT stack and replace it with the new one.

Honestly stop wasting time trying to figure out a cause for the CAUSE of the problem and simply backup your files and do a clean installation of windows.

It really isn't scary as it sounds and your machine will be 10x faster.

E08 does not give us nearly enough information to work on. Maybe you could take a picture of the screen with a cell phone and post that somewhere?

These guys will assist you if you provide a bit more information. If none of their advice helps, the only thing I can think of is to try to BT 350 module instead.
