I have a Inspiron 1501 with a AMD Turion 64x2 1.6ghz running XP with 2 gbs of ram. I go to school for computers, so i know a plenty about that stuff. What i want to know is it safe to overclock it to maybe 1.8ghz or higher? is it worth it? What program is best to use? I have a cooler for my laptop and i monitor the temperature with Speed Fan. So, let me in on some info PLEASE?

I don't know if you can overclock Turions. All the overclocking done on Intel CPUs has been a result of someone finding something special in the pin diagrams and electrically connecting 2 or more pins in order to activate it. If you can get a Turion pin diagram and know something about electrical engineering, you might be able to figure out a method to do it.
