Rumors are floating around today claiming LG is partnering up with Apple to make OLED displays for a new iPhone and iPod touch. The rumor has been floated by SmartHouse, contrasting with other reports by Dow Jones Newswire and Commercial Times/Digitimes that Quanta was to be providing screens for a new netbook to carry the Apple name launching in Q3 this year.

I believe OLED uses less power while providing the same amount of brightness, so using OLED screens could increase battery life
