VAIO & Bluetooth Devices

Thread Starter
I purchased a Motorola HS850 headset and the bluetooth on my Sony VAIO pcg-tr1mp laptop recognized it no problem, but I have no clue how to get it to work with Yahoo Messenger. There's got to be a way. The device options in Yahoo Messenger only include one speaker and mic in the laptop, not the bluetooth or headset.

Under Sound Playback and Sound Recording the Morotola Headset is not an option. The default (and only) option is SoundMAX Digital Audio. I rechecked the Bluetooth Devices panel and the Motorola HS850 Headset is discovered and passkey enabled.

I would love to chat on Yahoo Messenger while I'm doing the dishes, etc. And I'd appreciate any info

Most (if not all) BT modules that come with notebooks are proprietary and limited - in the sense that they dont share (or make available) audio out/in to other apps, in the form of another audio device (not just being a peripheral - headset- device).

Your best bet is to get an external USB BT that comes with its own software, or take a look at ITV Blue Soleil BT software. This will present another set of audio device that apps like yIM can use and take advantage of.

cheers ...
