Gateway MP6954 - Left Screen Hinge is Broken

I have a Gateway MP6954. I love this computer, but it has given me grief in the past. I recently replaced a fan in it and now a more serious problem has come up. The left hinge on my laptop case has completely broken off. The plastic hinge is right next to my right arm and the metal connecting the screen and the part under the small cover (the one the hinges are attached to) has broken. Is there a way to repair this or should I just give up and buy a new laptop?

Sorry for the blurriness of the image. I took it with my cell phone.

Note: Sorry for the original image. Wasn't expecting that to happen.

I've answered a question similar to yours in the following thread:

What you want to get is an LCD Bezel or the bottom chassis, depending on where the hing is. If the hinge you're talking about is on the LCD Screen, then you need a new LCD Bezel. Best bet is to look for a parts unit, as these sorts of items can get pricey. Good Luck.

The hinge seems to be connected to the bottom plastic part which includes the power button cover. I know that when you loosen the screws in the back, you can take that plastic cover off. I'm more worried about the broken piece of metal that attached it(the hinge and by extension the LCD screen) to the bottom of the laptop. Would that mean that I have to buy a bottom chassis? Also, if that's the case, are there any instructions to installing a new chassis on this forum?

Okay, after checking online it seems that I might need to buy a top chassis, hinges, and a bottom chassis. Does anyone know how you can put in such parts? Or should I just save myself the trouble and get a new laptop?

No need to replace your laptop. You just need new plastic.
