how to fix mbr on an ACER

My uncle got a virus on his MBR he has his Acer recovery disks and also the recovery file on the desktop.

Is one better than the other? Will both fix the MBR or is there something else I need to do?

The recovery partition is built into the D drive as well.

With a virus infection, just wipe it out, using any recovery tools to put the system back to original state; whichever recovery that is eay for you.

both programs reformat the hard drive and MBR correct?
