PA6A MX8716b Screen Shorts???

Hi All
I have a Gateway PA6A Laptop and when i tap the Front Left of the case above the PCMIA port the screen goes off what could i do the fix this problem.

I guess you have to start taking the machine apart and checking for short as you mentioned.

Curious: does this happen if you have a pcmcia card in?
