Hi,
I have brought a dell studio 14 Laptop I messed up with the Recovery Partition ,so I am not able to restore from the image as it is not able to locate the image , but factory restore is working fine and successful.
I want to know whether there are two image in dell system for both type of restoration??
Does factory restore use the image in the recovery partition or it uses the image which might be hidden??If so will the factory restore work if I delete the Recovery Partition. Plz Help....

What are the two methods you are using? As far as I know there is only one way: pressing Ctrl + F11 at startup. What is the other way you are using?

I Press F8 during start up ,then the repair option and a menu comes with 5-6 options with 2-3 types of restoration. I talked to the dell technical guy he was saying that out of all the restore options only the factory restore will work ,rest are in the menu but they don't work...

So are you saying that both the "Restore image" and "Factory Restore" were in the same menu but only one works? I'm just asking in because I'm unsure if you still had a question. Personally though, I'd just prefer to reinstall windows manually or better yet, use a tool like acronis to make my own image.
