I have a Dell D600 1.4mhz (about 6 years old) which according to Device Manager has a Mobility Radeon 9000
I want to increase the screen resolution as the present maximum is 1024 x 768

Is there any way to do this please?

Dear Moderator...This is my first post and I should have put in the Dell section, which I have just done,

No, 1024 by 768 is the maximum in settings in properties.

I believe that on some models/brands, you can increase the resolution by checking off the option of hiding not supported resolutions in the advanced tabs of the display properties.

But the screen presenation can be out of place and this can eventually leads to damages to your LCD.

cheers ...

The problem most likely is that your LCD screen can't go any higher. Lots of D600's only shipped with a 1024x768 screen.

As MrEvil said, its very likely your LCD is at its maximum now and therefore, it would have nothing to do with the video card. You would have to get another compatible LCD in order to get a higher resolution.
