Hp Says Not Fixable

I HAVE A zx5000 HP PAVILION, ITS ABOUT 4-5 YRS OLD. THE NOTEBOOK COMPUTER WILL BOOT UP TO THE WINDOWS LOADING PAGE FLASH A BLUE SCREEN . THAT YOU CAN NOT READ AND RESETS TO A WINDOWS LOADING PAGE. I HAVE A HARD TIME BELEIVEING THAT THIS NOTEBOOK CAN NOT BE FIXED. ANY HELP OUT THERE. THIS PROBLEM JUST STARTED LAST NIGHT THANK YOU

Tried with safemode?

I would swap out the ram modules next (if you have 2), take one out one at a time.

This may or may not be relevant!

I had the EXACT same symptoms happen to my wife's old Sony Vaio notebook, and I thought it was "toast"! Your description is spot-on to what her 4+ yr old notebook did (Win XP), all at once, just like yours. It turned out to be the internal WiFi card gone rougue, and after disabling it, the lappy started up just like normal! Turn it on? Ka-blooie!

Rather than go futz around and find an internal card to replace the bad one, i just nabbed a PCMCIA WiFi adapter, and my daughter is happily surfing along with my wife's old notebook!

Do you have a free copy of Ubuntu Linux? If so, boot off that and see if you get any failure.

This can help determine if it is a software or hardware issue.

Sounds like it can be software but hard to say without looking at it
