**Maybe add a total of 6 gigs of ram for $200 (1,489) plus tax.

Staples has a deal on the Toshiba Satellite P300-061 for $999. The video card is a lot better but the CPU is lower. Also with dell I can upgrade the HD to 7,200 rpm. What will be the best option or the best vaule. The Dell only comes with a video card for 256 mbs. The Toshiba Satellite P300-061 with 512 seems better but at the same time I’m going to be trading off for a lower CPU from 2.0 Ghz to 2.53GHS .
Also is the Tradup with Dell from the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo P8700 (2.53GHz/1066Mhz FSB/3MB cache) to Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T9400 (2.53GHz/1066Mhz FSB/6MB cache) woth the extra $200. Should I be spending that 200 on more ram???

I will be using the laptop for travel and mostly for Photoshop and video editing like Photoshop video editing or the AVID. The video part will be the most demanding part. No gaming, just video editing.

My Input:

- On the Studios you have a 17" screen @ 1440 x 900 resolution, personally that would not be sufficient if working in Photoshop or Premiere. Go for a laptop with a 1920 x 1200 display.

- Personally I would look into the Dell Precision Line as they are specifically designed as workstation Laptops i.e. Graphics, Photoshop. Either Dell Precision M4400 15" or Dell Precision M6400 16".

Good point but i really don't want to pay that much. I normally upgrade laptops every 1.5 years. My budget would be around 1500. I can always update the screen.
Again, thx for your input.

I understand, the Precision Laptops are corporate grade, and designed to be in use 24/7 for much longer than years. So I guess it depends how you look at, as to whether it is justifiable.
