Maingear has just given us a new offering in the ultraportable department. The Maingear mX-L comes with a 13.3" LED backlit display, Intel C2D processor, up to 8 GB RAM, optional Blue-Ray reader, Bluetooth, WiFi, 3x USB 2.0, VGA output, and up to a 160 GB SSD for those with enough scratch, oh and they'll laser etch the lid for you at no additional cost. Starting price is $1,099 but upgrades add up quickly as one might expect. The real unfortunate bit involved with this UP is the paultry 4-cell Li-Ion battery (User switchable but not upgradeable at the moment) so don't expect too much life out of it off of AC.
