Laptop Virgin, help! (Toshiba or Sony?)

Hello.
I will be getting my first laptop in a few days now (yes i am a virgin)
I have been comtemplating between three laptops.
2 Sony Vaios
and 1 Toshiba

1. Toshiba Satellite 16" Intel Dual Core T3400 2.16GHz Laptop (A350-02T) - Future Shop Exclusive

They are all in the same price range ($700 CDN).
If any of you guys own any one of them, please let me know of the pros/cons.
Please recommend one for me!
What I look for most in a computer is:
-performance
-quality screen
-looks
What I most would be doing on it:
-schoolwork (word processing, power point)
-movies
-some light gaming (WoW maybe, Starcraft for sure)


Which out of the three has the best spec?
Oh, and does Vaio not support Windows XP?

I would take either the 1st or the 2nd - depending on your screen size preference.

Sony is not the only one that no longer supports XP. We are now in 2 years since Vista was first introduced, with Windows 7 on the (good) way. Unless you are hard up on certain apps that you own that cannot be migrated, give Vista a test drive and decide for yourself.

Both brand are really good. I don't think you can go wrong with either brand. For me personally, I always go with Sony. As what I have always owned when it comes to laptops.
