Dell Laptop won't wake up from sleep

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 with Vista. When put in sleep mode, sometimes it won't wake up. I then have to shut down and reboot.
Any solutions or fixes for this. I couldn't find a fix from MS.

This is what I do on all my Vista comps:

. Get Vista up to date.

. Use Hibernation instead of Sleep -> never had to hard reset, so far.

cheers ...

Can you be more specific? In what way does it not return from sleep? The computer turns on but not the screen? If so, you might want to try some different video card drivers.

When I open the lid or top to the laptop, it should respond by giving me the desktop.
It doesn't. As a result, there is nothing, no cursor, anything. The only thing I can do is push the power button to turn it off and eventually reboot. Thanks for your interest.

I think you should try different video card drivers. You seem to be returning to a computer screen with only a backlight on and changing drivers could fix this.
