quad core laptop / hp vs dell / clarksfield processor

Hi all, I am in the market for qx9300 laptop and have narrowed it down to either a dell m4400 or HP 8530w but was interested to know what was the average battery life I could expect? (using say full wifi, microsoft word, Mozilla with multiple tabs open, bluetooth dongle etc) I plan on using the 9 cell extended battery and a battery slice, is it reasonable to expect 8 hours run time with the configuration? Secondly there is a videocard option on the HP 9530w called the v5700 which is a downgrade, does that card use less wattage than the fx770m? Warranty does anyone have experience with dell warranty vs HP warranty? Is one easier to use than the other, more supportive, faster etc? Lastly I keep reading such great things about this new processor called the Clarksfield. I understand it shuts off core when not in use an has better wifi functionality (read: lower battery usage). Does anyone know whether these features will increase the battery life by hours or only minutes? I also read about centrino price cuts coming in June, pardon my ignorance but is a qx9300 part of the centrino family?

Regarding video card power specifications, Nvidia and AMD/ATI are usually pretty quiet on how much power their mobile cards take. Any known info on that could be found by looking up the graphics cards in question on www.notebookcheck.com

Regarding Clarksfield, while shutting off power to cores not in use will probably increase battery life, it's impossible to currently tell how much they will extend battery life over current quad-cores. You'll just have to wait until they're released to find out.

Regarding the QX9300, Centrino is an Intel branding that identifies systems whose processor, chipset, and wireless card are all made by Intel. It has nothing to do with the type of processor, as long as it's made by Intel. The QX9300 is a quad-core member of the Core 2 Duo family, made as part of the current Core microarchitecture. When Clarksfield processors are released, they will be based on the new Nehalem microarchitecture.
