Mini CD/DVD Work With Slot Loading Drive?

I just got an XPS M1330 with a slot loading drive. I noticed that you have to put the CD almost all the way in the drive before the computer accepts it. I have a bunch of mini CD's, I'd like to know if they will work or get stuck?

Anyone know?

Thanks,

NEVER USE A MINI CD IN A SLOT LOAD DRIVE!!!! It just won't work, and could damage the drive for good.

That's pretty much what I figured... just wanted to verify this with someone else. Thanks for the reply

There's apparently adapters you can use to add diameter to the cd's. Personally, I don't own any mini cd's so I don't know too much about the adapter.

You're correct! and I just realized it yesterday. I have an adapter that came with My Sony Mavica camera. I never had a chance to use it till now. Kind of afraid now, if it fails I have to take appart the drive .

Cheers!

I have a Sony CD burning Mavica as well, and the first (and subsequently last) time I used the CD adapter the adapter damaged the reflective layer on the label side of the mini CD-R I was using. Luckily it was at the outter edge and no photos were there. From that point on I stuck to putting those mini CD's in tray-load drives.
