Someone at laptops2go forum told me to try out DOX 182.46 drivers... But not much difference there . I guess our computers can't really handle the engine. I'm seriously thinking of overclocking..... MAYBE lol

Not sure, I don't remember it lagging that much (especially the long pauses). Possibly need an older driver that was more optimized for the hl2 engine. I would try the Driver search tool on laptopvideo2go.com -> Drivers. Then enter the 7900GTX Device ID into: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_ and &SUBSYS_. I don't know what the ID is as I am not near my 7700, but you can find it by going to Device Manager -> Display Adapters. From that window, go to Details -> Hardware IDs (pull down menu). I forget the progression of the drivers, but try different drivers above 100. (~ 120 / 130 ?)

It's always much easier to test the drivers as they come out and see if you want to keep or revert. There are so many, its hard to go backwards. ;-)

Good Luck

Ok... I found all the hardware id's. But there are 4 different id's. Which one do I choose? Oh I have a 7800gtx not a 7900gtx .

They all should have the same contents, but the length of content is different. As in mine, read after DEV_ "0299", and after SUBSYS_ "09001558".

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0299&SUBSYS_09001558&REV_A1

Got it! I guess I have to just keep trying them out, maybe there's one in there that works. Although I didn't see any within the 120-130 range drivers.

Yea, I'm not sure when they started flagging their drivers by compatible device ids, but it definitely condenses the number of drivers. Its a newer feature, but I have found it to be very helpful.

Sorry for the late reply... Been really busy, I guess I will have to keep on trying. Hey I know this is off topic, but I was wondering about the DVI connection in the back. Do you know what kind of cable I can use? I wanted to connect it to my lcd which uses HDMI.

Would this one work?

Yes, that cable will work. I used to connect my 7700 to the 42" before moving it to the living room. There are better deals available on the internet (~$15 w/ shipping). I saw some available on monoprice.com. Obviously, audio won't be available through the DVI connection -- need to use a seperate cable.
