Hello all. I have a few minor issues with my X83V that I was hoping some of you guys could help me out with.
First, I have this odd issue with Vista's sidebar. When I switch the power setting from Power4Gear Battery Saving to Power4Gear High Performance, the sidebar goes away. I cannot figure out how to get it to stay when I switch between the power settings.
Another question I have is with the volume control. Is there a way to change the volume level display? Right now, it is a huge Circle and Speaker display that takes up a lot of screen real estate. Is there a setting that the notebook has to change it to a smaller volume level display?
Lastly. On startup, the laptop makes a really loud noise when it displays the Asus splash. Can I disable this noise? I don't mind it all that much except when I have to power up/restart the notebook in the middle of a class. It is very distracting to the rest of my peers.
Thank you for any help I receive with these issues. I really appreciate it.
*Edit*
I went into the BIOS and got the startup sound taken care of. Also, I found that in the Power4Gear options, there is an option to turn the sidebar off, but the option is only available for Battery Saving, and I have it shutting off in High Performance.
