AREA 51-M D900T - Two Vertical Lines - One Black, One White

Hello!

I'm new here, and searching for help with a friends laptop. I've done several laptop repairs in the past, and was hoping to help my friend with his Alienware.

I can't remember if he said it shows up on an external display or not - havent had time to test. I can check if it will help you guys diagnose the problem.

I've attached a picture. The lines show up as soon as the laptop powers up, on the POST screen.

Looking forward to a reply.

Update:
I removed the video card, blew out the connectors, and did the same for the LCD connector. Still have the lines.
Do you think its the video card, LCD screen - or something worse?

If the problem happens in the BIOS then its not your drivers that are the problem. It's most likely a problem with your screen. Another way to confirm this would be to plug an external screen, if the problem isn't present on external screen then you have double proof its your LCD/cabling that's the prob!
