Buildilng My First Computer

Hey guys,

My dad wants me to build him a computer. I'm fairly certain it will be easy enough, but I am just looking for some advice on if the components work together and if I'm missing anything.

A few things first. I do not need a keyboard, a mouse, speakers, or a monitor.
HDMI is a necessity and that is why I picked this card. No games will be played, but we need something powerful enough to do some light video work.
Lastly, we have a Audigy 4 as well. Just wanted to know if there is space for this card to fit.

Also, do I need to buy fans or any power cables? Or will the cpu fan and other fans come with the case/processor? Also, the power wires should come with the blu ray drive and the flash reader thing right?

Here is the list. And if there any ways I can save money let me know!

Looks good. Is there a motherboard in there with the CPU combo deal?

Not sure about the Audigy, but you should have plenty of room since you're just doing one video card.

One thing I would definitely change would be the power supply. The power supplies included with certain computer cases are not the best or the most reliable. I would change it to one of a more recognized brand. Decent power supplies from well known manufacturers start at about $50-$60.

Processors include a stock fan and a heatsink with thermal paste pre-applied so you do not need to worry about getting either.

Computer cases may or may not include fans so you may need to get those, some cases do include a back or a side fan but that depends on the manufacturer, but you'll still be short one or two fans.

If you need to get fans the regular ones will do fine but you can get silent fans or add some bling to your computer by getting lighted fans.

I agree with dock and the power supply.

You're going to have to change either the case or the motherboard. The case only supports Micro ATX and the motherboard is full ATX (i.e. won't fit in the case)

Looks good to me. I'm not crazy about the fact that the power supply doesn't tell you the combined wattage of its 12v rails, but it should work.

Yeah, it should be fine. I was just giving the only criticism I could come up with, that's all. I got a friend of mine a Rosewill power supply and a 4670 graphics card for his birthday and they're both working out great for him. Happy building!

I checked out that power supply and it only has 14 amps on each 12v rail. Not great, but as long as you dont plan to get a more powerful video card or overclock it should be ok.

Thanks for looking that information up for me.
If it were my computer, I would def. change it, but since it's for my dad and he doesnt do anything intensive, it should be fine. Worst case scenario, he becomes an avid computer gamer and need to replace the power supply along with the card.
