Any Info for m9750 Hardware Upgrading?

Hello laptop users. I've had an AW m9750 Area-51 laptop since late '07, and it's been functioning fine, but I think it could probably use some upgrades to keep up with newer games.

Here are the specs:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7200 2.0GHz 4MB Cache 667MHz FSB
Video/Graphics Card: 512MB NVidia GeForce Go 7950 GTX
Memory: 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SO-DIMM at 667MHz - 2 x 1024MB

I'm not the biggest computer power tweak out there, but I've been getting frame rate drops to below 30 fps in Team Fortress 2 on all low settings, so I think a little boosting would be nice.

From what I understand, the m9750 is fairly easy to upgrade compared to most laptops, and that's good for me, because I've never upgraded a laptop before beyond adding more RAM to another laptop I used to have. The only time I've really delved into a computer's organs was back when I assembled a desktop a few years ago, and that process was pretty much "if it fits in the slot, it probably goes there" (most of the parts were given to me). :S

As someone who plays a lot of source games, I think my biggest bottlenecker right now is my processor, but I don't know how to begin with upgrading it. Are there guides anywhere on upgrading an m9750 processor? If not, do you know of any differences between a desktop processor I need to keep in mind? Do I need to use a mobile processor or something like that? Any recommendations?

Info on upgrading a video card would be cool too (though I don't plan on doing that right away).

Thanks a bunch. :]

Thanks a bunch for the help (sorry for the long reply). I wasn't able to get info about upgrading the CPU from those links (the CPU link was actually for the graphics card, and the one for the graphics card led to an account registration page). Do you (or anyone else) know if there are any specifics I should know or have any recommendations for buying parts? I'm aware that processor upgrades voids warranties, but my warranty has already expired, so that doesn't matter much to me. Thanks again!

That is true that the link shows the gpu replacement, but once you remove the heatsink, the cpu is right there to be accessed. Make sure that you use new thermal paste before putting it back together.

cheers ...

Here is some really important things you need to know.
You can upgrade the cpu to t7400 ot t7600 only. It has to be the pin style. not the ball. The t7400 is a 2.1ghz and the t7600 is a 2.3ghz. They are both 667mhz and that is all the 9750 will support. Same goes for your ram you need to find 667mhz ddr2 200 pin. Video card options would be adding a second video card or upgrading to a 8700gt. For dual video cards you will need a master and slave card and a sli cable. All can be found on ebay. Cable sometimes is hard to find.
