What can I use My 3 Broken Laptops For?

Hello I have 3 broken laptops all with fried motherboards (apparently I have a black cloud over my head). They are
Dell 600m
Dell 8600
And some general Gateway 15.4.

My question is since they all have great screens is there anyway I could remove the screen and some how rig it up to play my Xbox on or anything like that? I know it would probably be a challenge finding adequate power supply and some interesting wiring but could it be done. Any suggestions?

Anything else I can do with three dead motherboard less machines? If the screen deal is a no go any suggestions on where I could get rid of em for a little bit of money? Thanks for the help everyone.

You could disassemble them and sell them for parts.

http://www.notebookforums.com/thread226213.html . As mentioned in that thread, changing the connectors to use the internal LCD for another system is typically not a route you want to take. There are some suggestion threads as to how to do this though if you search.

I had a non-functional laptop computer in my closet for about 4 years. The motherboard was fried and I thought maybe someday I would be able to get it repaired. Never happened... so... I sold it on Ebay. Believe it or not, there is a small market for these things. Just make sure you mention what is wrong with the laptops. You MUST state that they have bad motherboards and what ever else is wrong with them.

Very true, in many instances, I saw good offers to buy in the end, when truthfulness was being stated in the item description.

people pay way too much for dead laptops on Ebay all the time

They pay even more for working ones lol

I recently Sold a old Inspiron 1501 for $ 490.00 USD which was close to what I paid for it new.
