Sony AR520 Upgrade, DUAL DRIVE Questions

I was wanting to put in a lager hard drive in my system, I noticed that it has a spot for 2 hard drives, I was thinking about leaving in the factory drive and adding a second drive.

I was wondering if I would have any problems adding a second drive.
I was thinking a 320gig to a 500gig 5400rpm drive.

any suggestions or warnings i should be aware of?

I was also thinking of either switching to a 64 bit OS from the factory 32 or doing a dual boot.

I haven't done much with laptops except adding memory and such, I'm more use to desktops systems, in fact I'm thinking about building a new one real soon.

Can you share some pics for reference? Is the 2nd hard drive slot readied? Or must you find a caddy for the drive?

Standard specs do not call for this 2nd slot, which is sometimes present in many brands/models, thus BIOS might not support it. But then, if it works, share with us your findings.

Going to 64bits is a good idea, as long as you can find the corresponding drivers. Dual boot is a great idea.

Cool. I dont see why not trying to stick in a 2nd drive and see, if it is being recognised.

I could not find anywhere on the Sonys, that "works" with dual drive. You might stumble on something good here.

Just an update.

Ordered a Western Digital 500gb 5400rpm drive, received it yesterday.

Got around to installing it last night.

Had to initialize the disk and format and now it works perfectly.

I know have a total of 700gb HDD space on my system.
