help with disk space

I just got my son a generic D9C notebook for gaming, but it does not have enough disk space for using Steam and his games. Is there an external hard drive I can use that will solve this problem?

Yes, you can get any external hard drive, format it to ntfs, and then install games on the external hd in windows. That is the most user-friendly way.

Another way would be to gather necessary data off the computer and reformat it. I'm not sure how big the hard drive is so even this may not work. I'd recommend you just get the external hard drive.

I got one of these for my daughter. It's already formatted. Just plug and play.

You shouldn't be running out of space as soon as you get a laptop. As suggested, maybe try and reformat and reload. Will probably help with performance as well. If not, maybe an application like PerfectDisk which can defrag the disk and help free up some space.
