ASUS Eee PC 901 or something better

Hello All,

I was checking out the ASUS Eee PC 901 and found the Specs good..

Basically I am looking for a Windows XP Based Laptop.

This laptop has a Intel Atom 1.60GHz processor and 1GB of DDR2 RAM (667MHz). Are there any other Asus Models with higher Processor or any other netbook with a higher processor speed and RAM.

basically Speed the Net Connectivity (Wireless) are my primary Criteria.

Regards,
Hemanth

Pretty much all netbooks have the same CPU specifications. To get something with a faster processor, you'll have to expand your budget quite a bit and look into a "real" notebook.

For me Expanding budget is not a problem. I had seen this laptop as one of the best laptops of 2009 and hence wanted an opinion. Do you know of any others which are much more powerful and value for money at the same time.

I'd definitely shop around if you have a larger budget. Here are some links with good information:

You also want to try the models you are interested in hands-on, because some have smaller keys than others, which may cause a problem for (prolonged) typing. For example, I'd have difficulty to do a lot of typing on the 9" EEE and the 9" Acer Aspire One since the keys are pretty small, but the HP Mini series hasa much larger keyboard.

I went to an Indian Store last night and bought myself an Asus EEE 100OHE Netbook. Looks neat. One thing is it leaves lot of finger marks on the top Panel. And the mouse click makes a huge sound. But the rest ROCKS...

The EEE 1000HE is one of the newer models which seems to get pretty good reviews, especially since it comes with a 160GB hard drive and a 6-cell battery which (from what I hear) can last up to 9 hours. I hear the keyboard is pretty nice on them too.
