Thanks for readin my post! i wiped my buddy's laptop with a copy of XP i acquired online. i went to dell for the drivers- some of that was a lil more complicated than i bargained for. realizing that this was gonna be a lil harder than i thought, i'm looking for some help. i just wanna make sure i'm doin this right by getting some help from someone who knows a hell of a lot more than i do. Help anyone?

Dell makes it pretty easy to put drivers back on your computer. All you need to do is type in the service code (that should be on the bottom of the notebook) on Dells website, and it will bring you to all the drivers you need to restore the computer back to working condition.

Thanks for your time. yeah, fortunately for me, they do. but it was real clear to me under some categories which driver(s) i was to choose. there was even a small article that walked you through the proper order to install them in. the result of that was quasi-success. a couple didn't install correctly, and the taskbar ended up a few inches below the bottom of the screen (could see the top of the start menu when i pressed the windows key- what's up with that?). i don't suppose you might be able to help me identify the correct choices under each driver category? Service code is DS5TW31.
Thanks again,
Grant

go into device manager and take a screenshots of the yellow question marks. that will give me an idea of what your system needs.

So when you enter in the service tag, click on the network + section and there should be 14 drivers to choose from.

Download the LAN Driver that matches the model you have. My guess is it is the (Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller)

The other Yellow Question Mark is for your modem, and it doesn't seem to be listed here. But it may be a driver associated with whatever network card you have.
