Qosmio G25 - LCD Upgrade, Is It Possible?

This idea is playing on my mind and I need the opinion of the Tech Guru in this forum...
I have a failed LCD on my son's Qosmio G25, it is having about 52 vertical lines and
when you put in an external monitor, there is no line at all.
I want to replace the LCD and would like to know if it is even possible to replace it
with a 1920x1200 LCD. The original one was 1440x900. I've checked it on Ebay and
there where two LCD screen for sale for the same model. Will the 1920 work in this
model, or will it work only as 1440, or will not work at all?
The price of the 1920 screen is almost double as well...

Thanks for any insight on this...

Verify against your current LCD part number. Most of the time one can upgrade the 1440 to the 1920 with no issue. Just make sure to order the inverter that comes with the new screen.

cheers ...

Ah! Ok! Thanks! Will it have a different connector or inverter part no? Thanks!!!

The inverter is typically sold with the screen. You should be fine just getting the screen from ebay. If the 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) screen is from the same model then it should work with no mods. Same with the 1440 x 900 (WXGA+) screen.
