Hi, I would like to purchase and external monitor for my acer aspire 5735z and was wondering if there is a maximum size the vga out will support. Im looking at the samsung t260hd or t240hd 26" and 24" respectivly. they both have 1900x1200 resolution. Will I have any issues?

Thanks

It appears it should support it. I googled your video chipset and found this:

Dual independent display support

Hi, I got the monitor (asus vk266h) and im having 2 issues. one is flickering when my laptop is pluged into the same power circuit as the monitor. The flicker is almost gone when its on a different circuit bit its still there. The second (most annoying) is that the blacks are all washed out. Im running the monitor in native 1920x1200 and the laptop in 1366x768 (native). When I put the monitor to some lower reolutions 1600x900 the black are really deep. I tried updating the driver but it said that I had the newest one.
thanks for any help.

You might want to try different power sockets that are far apart for the monitor flickering. Or take a look at the monitor properties and see if you can use different display frequency.

I doubt that the washing is driver related.

cheers ...

I don't use VGA so maybe I shouldn't comment but I thought this was just the nature of VGA. You can keep increasing the resolution at the cost of image quality. DVI, HDMI, or DisplayPort would be a better option. I could be completely wrong though.
