Remember that Intel/Eriksson Kill switch for laptops that allows users to disable stolen laptops by sending an SMS message and has a built in GPS module? Well it looks as though ASUS will be the first to make use of the chip. The P30 and P80 Laptops by ASUS will be sent out into the field with the module installed. It will be interesting to hear of instances of this being used to disable/recover stolen systems, and furthermore to hear of the shape said systems are in when the thieves realize that the laptop is useless.
