hi, can anyone help, when i try to reload xp a black box pops up saying bootsector virus yes no?. if i click on no it cancels the install but if i click on yes install continues but the boot sector virus warning comes up a few more times each time i click yes and then everything loads as normal. i have never come accross this before so is this a real threat or can i just forget it ?.the drive is a 2.5" hitatchi travelstar 80 gb i have tried formatting the drive but still the same.....................cheers.

It could be a bios setting that has boot sector protection enabled. Check to see if it is. if the setting is enabled every time some program access the boot sector to modify it you will get a virus warning. A re-install of windows will cause a virus warning if your bootsector protection is enabled since xp is modifying your bootsector.
