4gb over 2 gb of RAM - Page 2

I had none with all three of my E1705/9400 laptops, or my M1710 laptops running 4 GB.

The BIOS should be reserving the memory range above the 3.25 GB limit,

I also now OS like Vista have been reporting the 4 GB of memory when installed on these chipset limited computers, but its still only the 3.25 - 3.5 GB that is available for use by the system.

I've only had a few problems with having too much memory. Both Maple and Bart's bootable cd complained about having more than 2 GB of memory. Anyway, having more than 3.25 GB of physical memory should not be a problem as the OS cannot recognize that it even has that much. The OS cannot map memory to addresses it does not consider valid.
