Hi All,

I desperately need your help!
I want to upgrade my Satellite U405-S2856 (Vista Home Premium) to XP Prof. My statistical software packages won't run on Vista... they give me errors...

Need the drivers and basic instructions for upgrading to XP.

I downloaded everything that was available on Toshiba's website, but I'm afraid that this is not enough (many drivers may be missing).

Please help!

What are the XP drivers that you have so far? Which are the ones that you feel that are missing?

Best way is to list out all current devices description and manufacturers from your current Vista configuration, then perform the search from there.

Another (preferred) approach is dual boot your comp.

As mentioned above, not knowing which ones you have/dont have, makes it difficult to help. The Canadian site appears to have a full slate of XP drivers. Dont forget the Utilities as well or certain features of the laptop will not work.
I assume you are talking about a U400 model??? not a 404.
There are 6 sub models of the U400 on the Canadian site, I was looking at the last one.

Make sure whatever XP drivers you are using the conform with the hardware on your model. For instance, different sub models may use different GPU(video) hardware or audio (check yours against these)
