Ok...it's here...and yeah, I'm getting the lay of the land...

Having a little difficulty with Cinebench, not really difficulty but just trying to figure out what it's looking for. I tell it I want it to log my best score to database and it tells me I have to fill out all fields...now, the only one I'm unsure about is the "MHz (real freq.)" field... 253? MHz? Looking in the properties on my computer still gives me the decimal gigs...

this also has the 32 bit Vista installed which since the 64 bit was a free upgrade/choice I'm trying to figure a way to pitch just shipping me a free copy of the 64 to Lenovo...

I dig it though, it doesn't seem quite as fast as I expected it to be...but I'm guessing there is a rediculous amount of proprietary lenovo software running in the background taking up a bunch of resources...we'll see though...I promise I'll be writing a wordy review, and benchmarking with whatever the usual array of benchmarking programs are available also...any pointers on tweaks to pull a little more power out of this would be appreciated...

One more question though, they don't have the heatsink or processor on the list of "user servicable" parts...will I be voiding my Lenovo factory warranty if I Arctic Silver 5 my cpu?

1. Vista does take a few days to get used to your working habits. It will get faster!

2. In general, you touch anything, other than hard drive and ram, would void your warranty.

3. Besides AS5, I suggest that you also take a look at IC Diamond 7 and (Coollaboratory) Liquid Pro & Metal Pad

Have fun with your new "work" toy

cheers ...
