how Much does the G50VT-X5 weigh?

Hello all,
First post for me!

I am seriously considering the g50VT-x5. BB shows the weight as 7.7lbs and the CNET review shows the weight as 6.2lbs.

Can someone clear this up for me?

BTW - I am trying to get a lightweight unit for school and gaming (Guild Wars/The Sims/Sim City/etc. might get Darkfall and might buy some more 3D intense games in the future).

(I just weighed my backpack with a normal amount of school stuff and books in it and it is about 11 lbs. would not want to add more than 6ish lbs if I can find the right unit.)

Current price in my area at BB is $899.00 so this unit could possibly the best combination of performance/price/weight that I've seen.

Hard to say, but I expect that the difference can be traced to with or without battery. For intense gamers, I doubt that you can find any good gaming machines with less weight than this.

I just bought this laptop a few days ago. works amazing got farcry 2 ultra high on vista running 23-30+ frames. Weighs about 7 id say its much lighter without the battery about 3 or 4 pounds lighter.

Thanks for the confirmation. I finally went down to the store to put my hands on it and discovered what a giant beast of a notebook it is. I wouldn't have thought they would want to disguise a 15" screen on a 17" frame.

Anyway... This really helped to clarify my thinking about what my needs are and I have ordered a smaller and lighter unit.

Yea its actually a 15.6 inch screen so the frame is in between a 15 inch and a 17 inch..I compared it to my old m9700 and their is a pretty big difference
