Hi,
I have tried ubuntu for a few weeks struggling with the graphics config and have posted several posts on ubuntu forums for help. The simple explanation seems to be that using an intel integrated card is a nightmare overall, so I can't get good dual displays going, but at least my external monitor will display at one of the proper resolutions, albeit not where it should be.

The laptop display wont go past the 1280x800 and it should go to 1440x900

I have tried a ton and rather just try another distro. My thoughts are the following - I also am just looking to do something a bit more bleeding/cutting edge in terms of apps, speed, and so forth than ubuntu offers, it is nice, just not for me.

Crunchbang?
Sabayon?
Mepis?
Chakra?
OpenSuse11.1?
